If you are passing through Carinda it’s a good idea to check into the Carinda Pub to find out the best route to your destination as the gravel roads to Coonamble, Quambone and Walgett during and after rain can be very boggy.

Be sure to go inside the pub to see the life-size photo of the late, great David Bowie. He filmed part of his Let’s Dance film clip there in 1983. The tiled wall in the video has been preserved.

Bowie’s visit is celebrated at an annual festival, Let’s Dance Carinda, held on the October long weekend.
