Pilliga Guided Tours – self-drive

Guided tours of the Pilliga must be arranged prior to your arrival. You can arrange a self drive half day guided tour of Santos’ Narrabri Gas Project with a forest protector or a longer tour of the forest – see an example of an itinerary below.

A forest protector will reveal to you the latest developments of the Narrabri Gas Project. They will guide you through the forest on a maze of roads, and show and explain to you the infrastructure behind the gas industry. See the site of the old reverse osmosis plant which leaked, leaving a dead area in the forest. You will also see and hear the stories behind the flares, production wells, other spill areas and the controversial Leewood Waste Water Facility.

Pat Shultz conducts Pilliga and Leard Forest coal and coal seam gas three day Tag Along Tours. Other group or individual tours may be arranged. Call Pat Shultz 0428 725 852
